MASSIMODECARLO

Founded in Milan in 1987, MASSIMODECARLO gallery has played a vital role in establishing a dialogue between its artists and institutions, for over 30 years. The artists represented on MDC’s roster have gained international recognition, with their works collected in both public and private collections.

 

In 2009, the gallery expanded to London, focusing on emerging American artists. In 2016, it opened a space in Hong Kong, and in 2019, MDC moved to a new main exhibition space in Milan, located in the historic Casa Corbellini-Wassermann, designed by Piero Portaluppi.

 

In 2020, MDC launched the Virtual Space (VSpace), an immersive online experience. In 2021, the gallery opened MASSIMODECARLO Pièce Unique in Paris, followed by the permanent MASSIMODECARLO Beijing in 2022.

 

In July 2023, Massimo De Carlo announced the creation of a Foundation for Contemporary Art in Belveglio, dedicated to contemporary art in the province of Asti. In February 2024, MDC opened new offices in Seoul.

마시모데카를로(MASSIMODECARLO) 갤러리는 1987년 밀라노에서 설립된 이래, 30여 년 동안 갤러리의 아티스트들과 기관들 간의 교류에 중요한 역할을 해왔다. 갤러리에서 대표하는 작가들은 국제적인 명성을 얻으며, 그들의 작품은 공공 및 개인 컬렉션에 소장되고 있다.

2009년에는 런던에 갤러리를 확장하며, 미국의 신진 작가들을 집중적으로 소개했다. 2016년에는 홍콩에 공간을 열었고, 2019년에는 밀라노의 역사적인 카사 코르벨리니-바서만(Casa Corbellini Wassermann)의 건물로 새롭게 이전하여 주요 전시 공간으로 개관했다. 이 건물은 건축가 피에로 포르탈루피(Piero Portaluppi)가 설계한 곳이다.

2020년에는 몰입감 있는 온라인 경험을 제공하는 Virtual Space(VSpace)를 론칭했으며, 2021년에는 파리에서 MASSIMODECARLO Pièce Unique를 열었다. 이후 2022년에는 베이징에 MASSIMODECARLO Beijing Permanent Space를 설립했다.

2023년 7월, 마시모 데 카를로(Massimo De Carlo) 대표는 아스티(Asti) 지방 벨베글리오(Belveglio)에 현대미술 재단을 설립할 계획을 발표했다. 그리고, 2024년 2월, 마시모데카를로는 서울에 새로운 공간을 열었다.
