Mira Park

Mira Park observes emotions, exploring where they originate and what factors contribute to their formation. While acknowledging that emotions are largely personal and subjective, she is interested in how emotions can be construed and interpreted within the context of society. She primarily works with black materials to carve out images and narratives that emerge in the space between consciousness and the unconscious. She stages uncomfortable and discordant situations at the boundary between reality and the imaginary, exploring narrative structures that unfold simultaneously within the frame. She seeks to connect spaces, stories, consciousness, the unconscious, the virtual, and the real, using mediums such as drawing, animation, installation, and painting.

Mira Park(b.1982) received her B.F.A in Painting from Gachon University. Park has held her solo exhibitions at The Cheong-ju Art Studio, Seoul (2023); SeMA STORAGE, Seoul (2023); and others. Participated in group exhibitions at ONE AND J. Gallery, Seoul (2024); Sejong Museum of Art, Seoul (2024); Wumin art center, Cheong-ju (2024); TOTAL MUSEUM of Contemporary, Seoul (2023); The Cheong-ju Art Studio, Cheong-ju (2023); Perigee gallery, Seoul (2022) etc. Her works are in the permanent collections of MMCA Art Bank(Korea), Gyeonggi Museum of Modern Art(Korea), Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation(Korea), Cheongju Museum of Art(Korea) and others.

박미라는 감정을 관찰하며 자신이 느끼는 감정이 어디에서 왔는지 어떤 요인들로 형성되었는지 찾아보고 기록한다. 대부분 감정은 지극히 개인적이고 주관적인 영역이라고 여기지만 감정이 사회의 맥락안에서 어떤 방식으로 치부되고 해석될 수 있는지 관심을 가지고 있다. 또한 의식과 무의식의 틈에 자라나는 이미지와 이야기를 주로 검은 색의 재료를 사용해 새겨나가며 일상과 가상의 경계에서 불편하고 어긋난 상황을 연출해 드로잉과 애니메이션, 설치, 회화 등의 매체로 보여준다.

박미라(b.1982)는 가천대학교에서 회화를 전공했습니다. 청주미술창작스튜디오(2023, 서울)와 SeMA STORAGE(2023, 서울) 등에서 개인전을 열었으며, 그룹전에는 ONE AND J. 갤러리(2024, 서울), 세종미술관(2024, 서울), 우민아트센터(2024, 청주), 토탈미술관(2023, 서울), 청주미술창작스튜디오(2023, 청주), 페리지 갤러리(2022, 서울) 등에 참여했습니다. 그의 작품은 국립현대미술관 미술은행, 경기 현대미술관, 경기문화재단, 청주시립미술관 등 여러 기관에 소장되어 있습니다.
