KICHE presents Potato, a two-person exhibition by Park Kyungbeen and Chang Yebin. The exhibition takes its title from the meme “potato quality,” a phrase used for images so blurred or pixelated they seem barely legible. In a visual culture where resolution is often mistaken for truth, Potato lingers instead with the degraded image. Rather than correcting or clarifying what appears indistinct, Park and Jang work within its slippages, widening the gaps that precision attempts to close.

기체는 2026년 두번째 기획전으로 박경빈, 장예빈의 2인전 《포테이토》(Potato)를 개최한다. 마치 감자로 촬영한 것처럼 흐릿하거나 뿌옇게 된 이미지를 뜻하는 밈 용어 ‘포테이토 퀄리티(potato quality)’에서 착안한 이번 전시는 해상도가 높을수록 더욱 신뢰할 만한 것으로 간주되는 동시대 시각 환경에서 저화질 이미지를 매개로 일어나는 일련의 작가적 진술들을 조명한다. 오늘날 재현의 테크놀로지는 그 어느 때보다 사물을 또렷하게 비추고, 또 매끄럽게 기록하지만 박경빈과 장예빈은 그것을 의심 없이 받아들이는 대신 각자의 시선에서 발견한 틈을 저마다의 방식으로 벌려낸다.
