Miyeon Yi’s practice, primarily in egg tempera on wood, traces the boundaries between what is seen and unseen, what exists and what has already vanished, searching for these fragile edges through the memory of touch.

Born in Seoul and based in London, Miyeon Yi (b. 1995) received her MA in Painting from the Royal College of Art and her BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her recent exhibitions include Holding on to Gravity (Long Story Short, NY, 2025), Domestic Flights (Frestonian Gallery, London, 2025), Buzz~ Buzz~ Buzz~ (Linseed Projects, Shanghai, 2024), and Asia Now (Mou Projects, Paris, 2024). She is a finalist for the 2025 Sovereign Asian Art Prize.

이미연의 작업은 템페라를 사용하여 보이는 것과 보이지 않는 것, 존재하는 것과 이미 사라진 것의 경계를 더듬는다. 작가는 ‘물건을 다루던 손의 기억’을 통해 이러한 연약한 가장자리를 탐색한다.
