Ksusha Lastochka (1991) and Maxim Trulov (1991) are a duo of artists who work inseparably. Prior their collaboration, Ksusha studied animation in St. Petersburg, while Maxim was busy with public art on the streets of Nizhny Novgorod. Artists currently live and work in Istanbul, Turkey. Ksusha and Maxim besides their separate career are also known as authors of the “Your Mum’s Knight” art collective. They have exhibited extensively at festivals and exhibitions in Russia and abroad. Ksusha and Maxim’s style bases on two principles a black-and-white color scheme and detailed graphics. The combination of Ksusha’s background in animation and Maxim’s large-scale vision they created their own universe. The universe features over 50 characters that are a part of different narratives. From the first look their style may seem playful but the story unveils the deeper issues about mental health and traumatic experiences.
