Erkan Ozgen

Erkan Özgen (*1971, living and working in Diyarbakır, Turkey) addresses the social, political and ecological fractures of our time in his artistic work. With his subtle visual language, he gives a voice to the stories of people who have been pushed to the margins of society by war and displacement, while at the same time raising fundamental questions about responsibility, empathy and power. His works take up narratives that are often overlooked or deliberately suppressed in the flood of information and question traditional viewing habits.
