Dew Kim

Dew Kim(b.1985) studied Metalsmithing and Jewelry at Konkuk University(BFA) and earned his MFA in sculpture from the Royal College of Art in the UK. His work explores the intersection of K-pop culture “Idol” industry, religion, and identity, addressing themes of queerness, feminism, and sexuality through various media. He has participated in residency programs at Suwon Art Space Pureunjedae Changjakseamteo, K’ARTS Studio, DOOSAN Gallery International Residency Program, SeMA Nanji Residency, MMCA Residency Goyang, and Seoul Art Space Geumcheon. His works are part of the collections at the Government Art Bank(MMCA), Sunpride Foundation(Hong Kong), The Here and There Collective(New York, US), and Seoul Metropolitan Government.

듀킴(Dew Kim, b.1985)은 건국대학교에서 금속공예를 전공하고, 영국왕립예술학교에서 조소과 석사과정을 졸업했다. 대중문화의 아이돌 산업, 종교, 정체성의 교차점을 탐구하며 퀴어, 페미니즘, 섹슈얼리티 등의 주제를 다양한 매체로 풀어낸다. 한국예술종합학교 미술원 창작스튜디오와 두산갤러리 뉴욕 레지던시, 서울시립미술관 난지미술창작스튜디오, 국립현대미술관 고양레지던시, 금천예술공간의 입주작가로 활동하였다. 현재는 수원아트스튜디오 푸른지대창작샘터에 있다. 국립현대미술관 정부미술은행, Sunpride Foundation(홍콩), The Here and There Collective(뉴욕, 미국)과 서울특별시청 박물관과에 작품이 소장되어 있다.
