ByungHo Lee is a sculptor who constantly questions classical concepts and modes of representation in sculpture, maintaining a contemporary sensibility while presenting experimental sculptural methodologies to achieve ‘sculptures with temporality that continuously change over time’ using the style of human body sculptures. His approach to presenting ‘temporality in sculpture’ and ‘sculptures in a continuously fluid and transforming state’ is embodied in three major series: the <Breathing Sculptures> series (2006~), which utilizes silicone and air compressors, the <Anthropometry> series that began in 2016, and the <Eccentric Abattis> series derived from the <Anthropometry>.

이병호는 인체 조각이라는 고전 양식을 대상으로 ‘시간성을 갖고 지속적으로 변화하는 조각’을 구현하기 위해 조각에서의 오래된 개념과 재현의 방식에 대해 끊임없이 질문하고 동시대적 감각을 견지하며 실험적인 조각적 방법론을 제시하는 조각가이다. 조각에서의 ‘시간성’과 ‘지속적으로 유동하고 변형하는 상태의 조각’을 제시하는 그의 작업적 태도는 실리콘과 에어 컴프레서를 이용한 〈숨쉬는 조각〉(2006~ ) 연작과 2016년부터 이어온 〈인체측정〉 연작 그리고 인체측정 시리즈로부터 기원한 〈익센트릭 아바티〉 등 크게 세 개의 시리즈를 이루고 있다.
