Merging the precision of craftsmanship with the chaos of intuition, Wolfgang Walkensteiner (b. 1949, Austria) has forged a radically unique visual language; where drawing becomes terrain, painting becomes sculpture, and destruction reveals deeper order.
Educated at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna and one of the four artists in the Austrian Pavilion group exhibition at the Venice Biennale in 1976, his work explores time, perception, memory and the fractures of contemporary existence.
