Sejin Kwon (b.1988) took photographs of his daily sights to and fro, later composing them over on canvas where rhythmic strokes of the brush add a chronic layer, reversing the landscape from yesterday to another day previous. His latest work presented at KIAF is a “perpetual calendar” with a time-winding dial-crown for setting date and time. The brass object in his painting exists as a unique icon of nostalgia that evokes the invisible passage of time at the turn of its crown.

권세진(Sejin Kwon, 1988)은 일상을 오가며 매일의 풍경을 사진으로 담아낸 뒤, 그것을 또 다시 회화로 재구성하였다. 반복된 붓질은 시간의 층위를 만들어 내어 어제의 풍경을 그제의 풍경으로 돌려놓는다. 작가는 경북대학교 미술학과 및 동대학원을 졸업했으며 어울아트센터(대구, 2021), 갤러리2(서울, 2021), 021Gallery(대구, 2018) 등에서 개인전을 가졌다. 서울대미술관, 포스코 미술관, 돈의문 박물관, 경북대학교 미술관, 고암 이응노 생가기념관 등에서 진행한 단체전에 참여했으며 국립현대미술관, 대구문화예술회관에 작품이 소장되어 있다.
