CHOI&CHOI Gallery

CHOI&CHOI Gallery was established in Cologne, Germany, in 2012. Since inception, we have built an extensive network of artists and institutions spanning from Korea to London, Paris, Berlin, and Geneva, aligning with our core mission to facilitate greater cultural exchange between these regions. We opened our Seoul space in Gangnam in 2016, and have since moved to the current three-storey space in the heart of Jongno, Korea’s longest-standing arts district.

From the outset, CHOI&CHOI Gallery has steadily promoted Korean contemporary art by cultivating relationships and projects with Korean artists. Through exhibitions and art fairs, we continue to introduce the vibrant landscape of both local and diasporic Korean contemporary art to international audiences.

Our portfolio of Western artists primarily consists of emerging talents whose work has garnered attention in their local scenes. This has provided us with the opportunity to witness their growth and evolve alongside them. By introducing our roster of up-and-coming artists to both new and longtime collectors, CHOI&CHOI is dedicated to establishing a sustainable paradigm that nurtures artists and collectors alike.

초이앤초이 갤러리는 2012년 독일 쾰른에서 처음 시작되었다.  설립 이후 지역 간의 문화 교류를 위한 가교역할을 도모하며 한국에서부터 런던, 파리, 베를린, 제네바에 이르는 광범위한 아트 네트워크를 구축하였다.

초이앤초이 갤러리는 쾰른 쥬트슈타트 지구에 자리잡은 2층의 전시공간을 거점으로 다양한 작가들의 작품을 선보이는 전시와 프로젝트를 기획하여 왔으며, 작가 일부는 작업 초기부터 지금까지 갤러리와 친밀한 관계를 유지하며 함께해왔다. 2016년 강남 청담동에 서울지점을 오픈한 이후 한국 예술문화의 핵심지로 유서 깊은 종로 삼청동에 위치한 3층 공간으로 이전하였다.

개관 이전부터 다양한 프로젝트를 통해 꾸준히 한국의 현대 미술을 국제 미술시장에 알리는 역할을 맡아온 초이앤초이 갤러리는 전시와 아트페어를 통해 한국 현지 및 한국 디아스포라 현대미술의 다채로운 모습을 해외 관객들에게 지속적으로 소개하고 있다.

초이앤초이 갤러리는 서양의 소수 블루칩 작가들 만이 컬렉션의 주류를 이루던 한국 미술 시장에 유럽을 중심으로 활동하는 전도 유망한 작가들을 소개하며 작가들의 성장을 지켜보고 그들과 함께 성장하였다. 이러한 특색의 프로그램은 장기적인 안목과 비전으로 컬렉션을 만들어가는 컬렉팅의 새로운 트렌드를 주도하며 작가와 컬렉터 모두 만족할 수 있는 안정적인 패러다임 형성을 추진한다.
