Artemin Gallery
Overview
Artemin Gallery was founded in 2020 as an online platform and established a physical space in 2023. The gallery takes its name from Artemin, a human gene located on chromosome 1 (1p34.1), also referred to as ART, which is associated with neural development and the peripheral nervous system. Drawing from this biological reference, Artemin embodies the idea of sharp and rapid perception, akin to neural transmission.
Guided by this concept, the gallery connects art with everyday life, supports emerging voices, and explores the evolving possibilities of contemporary practice. With a focus on Western contemporary art alongside Taiwanese and Asian artists, Artemin Gallery fosters cross-cultural dialogue and creates platforms for international exchange.
아르트민 갤러리(Artemin Gallery)는 2020년 온라인 플랫폼으로 출발하여, 2023년 오프라인 공간을 설립하였습니다.
갤러리의 이름 ‘Artemin’은 인간 염색체 1번(1p34.1)에 위치한 유전자에서 비롯되었습니다. 신경 발달과 관련된 이 개념에서 착안하여, 아르트민은 신경 전달처럼 예리하고 빠른 감각, 그리고 동시대적 인식을 상징합니다.
아르트민 갤러리는 예술을 일상과 연결하며, 동시대의 새로운 흐름과 가능성을 탐색합니다. 서구 현대미술을 비롯해 대만 및 아시아 작가들과 협업하며, 문화 간의 교차와 국제적 교류의 장을 만들어가고 있습니다.
